Privacy policy

The data controller is the non-professional publisher of WindRank, reachable at contact@windrank.com.

Account: email address, technical account identifier and session information. The password is handled by the authentication service and is never accessible to WindRank in clear text.

Favourites: the account identifier, the spot identifier and the date the favourite was added.

Last search kept in your browser: dates, region and search text, stored locally under the key windrank:lastSearch.

Search parameters passed in the page URL (dates, region, search text).

Technical data and logs that may be processed by the hosting and security layers.

Correspondence, if you write to contact@windrank.com.

Data collected: an optional name, an optional email address, the message itself, the date it was sent and its processing status.

Purposes: replying to your request, correcting the errors you report and improving the service.

Legal basis: legitimate interest in handling requests that you voluntarily send.

Recipients: the publisher and the technical infrastructure strictly necessary to store and display the messages.

Retention: 12 months maximum, with automatic purging of older messages.

No marketing prospecting is carried out with this data.

Creating and securing your account and providing favourites: performance of the service you requested.

Remembering your last search: functionality you requested, stored as a local preference.

Security, abuse prevention and maintenance: legitimate interest.

Replying to your emails: legitimate interest.

Lovable Cloud and Supabase: application hosting, database and authentication.

Google Maps for spot maps and Google Fonts for typefaces; these services may receive your IP address and technical information about your browser.

OVHcloud: domain name and email service.

Open-Meteo: historical weather data, called from the server only, with no intentional transmission of account data.

Audience measurement: with your explicit consent only, WindRank uses Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-ZF4SLNPW44), provided by Google, to produce pseudonymous, aggregated audience statistics (pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type). The script is loaded and the analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_*) are written only after you accept.

Legal basis: your consent. No advertising feature is enabled: ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization stay denied.

Withdrawing consent: use the "Cookie settings" link in the footer at any time. Refusing stops any new event, sets analytics_storage back to denied and deletes the GA cookies your browser can access.

Your choice is stored in your browser under the key windrank.consent.analytics.v1.

The hosting platform (Lovable) may also produce native, aggregated traffic statistics for the published site, independently of Google Analytics.

No advertising tool is used.

Your browser stores an authentication token when you are signed in, and your last search under windrank:lastSearch. A technical interface cookie or storage entry may also exist.

Google Maps and Google Fonts may use or receive identifiers and technical data according to their own rules.

Account and favourites: kept for the lifetime of the account, and deleted on request. Inactive accounts are reviewed after 24 months.

Last search: kept in your browser until it is replaced or until you clear your browser data.

Contact emails: kept for a maximum of 12 months after the request is closed, unless a legal obligation requires otherwise.

Logs and backups: kept for the periods needed for security, according to the providers' own policies.

Data is accessible to the publisher and to the technical providers strictly necessary to run the service. There is no sale, no rental, no targeted advertising and no marketing prospecting.

Because of the providers used (Lovable, Supabase, Google), data may be transferred outside the European Economic Area, under the contractual mechanisms and policies published by those providers.

There is no commercial profiling and no automated decision-making about individuals. The WindRank Score rates spots and weather conditions, not users.

This policy will be updated if new processing activities are added to the site. Consent-based audience measurement with Google Analytics 4 is currently the only measurement tool, alongside the hosting platform's native statistics.
